Where do Cleaning Gloves come from, and Who Cares!

Ever wondered where the material for cleaning gloves comes from? The answer is the rubber trees which produce a milky viscous liquid called latex which is slowly caught by cutting the bark of the tree and waiting for it to drip into special containers. Once captured, this liquid is quickly treated using various chemicals which prevent it from hardening. Rubber! What would we do without it! So named by a British chemist, Mr. Joseph Priestly, who initially saw the benefits or it for erasing pencil marks believe it or not. Today's latex product is affordable, very durable, and provides us with light weight protection for the hands, but it has many other great uses too.

Cleaning Gloves are Crucial for Protecting Hands around the Home!

There is nothing we would miss more than our hands. Hands are the most important tools we posses period! In fact they are so necessary that life would prove quite impossible without them at worse and downright difficult at best. This is why it's crucial to take good care of our hands and treat them with love, tender care, and oodles of gratitude at all times. This includes those times spent doing domestic chores too, as many of today's cleaning products are made using harsh chemicals which can do a lot of damage when in contact with unprotected skin. So don't forget the cleaning gloves folks, no matter how much of a hurry you are in.

Ask any motorcyclist what the most important piece of pretctive clothing is after the crash hat. The answer will always be a good pair of leather riding gloves to protect the hands.A fighter wouldn't step in the ring without his trusty boxing gloves, and a construction worker would never think of doing certain jobs without wearing tough work gloves of some description. So you can see that society is well switched on to the fact that protective handwear is a must have, so why is it then that many of us don't bother protecting those superior limbs in the home by slipping on a simple pair of cleaning gloves? After all, they save hands from cuts, chemical burns, infections, blisters and broken fingernails.

Rubber Cleaning Gloves Prevent Injuries to Hands!

Potential accidents in the home are just there waiting to happen. Although most serious accidents occur in the kitchen, bathroom, and garden, domestic mishaps can occur just about anywhere, and they do, every single day of every single week, families are getting damaged hands caused by modern harsh cleaning agents and hazardous household chemicals.

Hand injuries caused by common items such as bleach products, powder cleaners, harsh detergents plus many of today's strong kitchen and bathroom cleaners etc, do not seem to be on the decline. This is not the fault of the manufactures, but more to do with folks not heeding the caution and warning messages on the side of bottles, packets, and wrappers. Almost all of these injuries could be prevented by wearing a cheap pair of cleaning gloves such as the simple orange or yellow rubber gloves, or latex gloves that we see for sale on the supermarket shelves.

Aside from protecting our hands from possible contact with harsh cleaning chemicals which cause burns, irritations and possible infections, cleaning gloves also give good protection against household germs from contacting the skin and possibly infecting or re-infecting healing wounds from previous mishaps. Just because we can’t see them, doesn't mean they're not there. All homes have millions of microscopic germs and bacteria's lurking in dark moist places around the house.

Choosing the Right Gloves for the Right Job!

It's an all too common mistake to think one type of glove protects against all possible dangers. This really is a misconception. Although general purpose rubber safety gloves are perfectly sufficient for most household cleaning chores, there are times when they will not suffice. If you are doing an unusual job around the home and are using a cleaning product for the first time, then always check the safety instructions on the packaging, or pamphlet if provided, for expert advice and instruction.

The popular cleaning gloves made from synthetic rubbers may prove to be weak against some specialist cleaning products and could be vulnerable to permeation, penetration, and degradation when using certain chemical agents. In such cases, specific glove materials will be necessary in order to provide the user with adequate hand protection, and this is why it's so important to read the safety instructions first. Otherwise, you are an accident just waiting to happen, and sadly, far too many accidents do occur as a direct result of wearing inadequate safety gloves.

So that’s it folks. When you started reading this piece, you may have thought it a bit silly to write up on something as simple as domestic cleaning gloves, but as you can see, this simple and inexpensive product should be a part of everyone’s domestic supplies. There is not a single day that passes where folks suffer hand injuries, some major, others minor, which could have been avoided or those injuries reduced by slipping on a pair of rubber protective gloves. They really are handy for homes!
